We had a hard time leaving this spot! Beautiful views of the lake, lots of hiking trails, and lake access. Our spot didn’t have quick access to the water- we had to hike down 1/2 mile or so to reach the rocky shore. There’s one hike in spot that allows you to camp right on the water that looked amazing. Our spot was walk-in with plenty of parking nearby. Well maintained pit toilet, water, bear box, and recycling all within easy access. Firewood and ice available for purchase and paddle board and kayak rentals down by the boat launch.
Good spot conveniently located close to the highway but wooded enough to feel more remote. There was a short trail from our campsite that led down to the river with a little sandy beach. We swam and fished from this lovely spot during the day and star gazed at night. Train tracks run along the campground although you couldn’t see them from our spot. Only a few trains went by during our stay so it didn’t bother us much but the noise might be annoying to some. We only stayed one night so I can’t comment on what the surroundings have to offer. Overall a nice spot that I would definitely recommend during a summer road trip!
