The drive to these campsites is steep and narrow. 4x4 advised. We drove the road in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and had no issues. If you’re afraid of heights and sketchy narrow cliff roads while driving (like me) then hold on tight… breathe deep… because the anxiety is worth it 100%. Most beautiful views. It feels like you have a whole National park to yourself. There are 5 spots and we drove in on a Wednesday evening and were the only ones here. No bathrooms, showers, anything. So be prepared for “roughing it”. Signs say portable toilets only. Enjoy this gem!
Great campsite right down the road from Zion. Only about $45/night and you get clean nice showers and clean bathrooms. There’s free WiFi, laundry facilities, and a game room. Also a nice little restaurant within walking distance (right across the street). Several campsites to choose from - we picked a more secluded one (although it was very close to other sites and near the highway). Picnic tables, table, grill and fire rings at most sites. Access to showers and bathrooms and other amenities 24/7. Great place to stay and they say they always have spots open for last minute check-ins. Will definitely go back in the future and highly recommend!
This was a great campsite! Dispersed and secluded. Between Tijeras and Albuquerque. In the Cibola National Forest. When you turn into Juan Tomas (FS 542) Rd - be sure to go straight down nearly to the very end of the road. You’ll see signs marking campsites (refer to photos). Sites were large with fire rings. No showers or other amenities… however there are two vault toilets along the road (only one was usable). They are gross - so be prepared to do your business in nature. Cell phone tower nearby - so cell service was great. We saw a coyote and a snake and several beetles. If you love nature and want to be secluded - highly recommended!
