Must do!

This is a huge state park!  It seems overwhelming and crowded at first.  The campgrounds are massive, but the campsites are spread out just enough to make you feel like you are in a small campground.  Do some hiking!!!!  After a short hike away from the roads and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.  The views are spectacular!  We were there in April where the weather was perfect!

A+

This is a great out of the way park.

It is clearly an older park with not much recent love. It is clean but not perfect.

The sites have older hookups but they are functional. The campsites are not level and some of them you have to guess where to put the trailer. We stayed on April 8& 9 (Thursday and Friday) and found it mostly empty! At night, the only sounds were the nature sounds of a very active forest.

The springs are very pretty and great for a natural spring. We did not swim but were very impressed with the cleanliness of the water.

I would recommend staying here if you were close by. I would not drive that far out of my way for it. Great for a night or two.

Great Location

This is a nice park with a perfect location in Panacea.  It is close to the water and everything else in Panacea.  The park is near the main highway, which gets pretty quiet at night.  There are nice big trees all over the property.  They are in the process of upgrading the park with additional spots.  The people are super friendly and have great advice about where to go kayaking.

Nicely Isolated!

The other review is spot on, nice small campground with pit toilets and no amenities.  If you are looking to get away, this is the place!   Yes, there is some livestock.  It is a beautiful campground.
