Ok this place was my first camping spot so I may be partial! With that said- this is great for kids and busy!
There are several lakes for fishing and a beach for the kids! The water is clear and the beach is well kept! They currently have an over water bounce obstacle course! Worth it!!
Great snack shack with wonderful ice cream! There is also a pizza place that is locally owned across the street if you want to skip the work!
pros: great great community
cons: it is very crowded with not much space in between sites!
electric and water available
This is one of my favorites as well!
This is situated in a very incredible neighborhood of Omaha! Close to the interstate for easy access! Very mature trees and landscape.
Hiking trails, no wake boating, paddle boards (available for rent).
Pros: Great Lake
cons: we felt really on top of our neighbors here, though a simple drive around showed us areas that are better than others.
Two rivers is my favorite Nebraska hidden gem! The state Rec Park is by both the Elkhorn and Platte rivers, thus it’s name, Two Rivers.
There are several camping areas, divided into “sub sections”, my favorite place is the cottonwood division (not water hookups but electricity ones work just fine! (Water hook ups are in a different subdivision, but available) the Cottonwood camp area lays right on the Platte River and it is beautiful watching the sunset over the water.
Two rivers has several lakes with a variety of different fishing options, though I must admit we do not fish much! The crowd is always there though, for what it’s worth. A swimming beach for kids, and river access when the river is low enough. I also recommend tubing down the Elkhorn through private companies, like “Uncle Scott’s”. So much fun!
Showers are new, updated and warm! Very friendly people and a wonderful convenient store/shack/breakfast store!
