campground itself was pretty nondescript. lots of loud kids when i was there, i ended up moving to a different campsite because they kept running through mine. definitely a spot for families to go camping, but it was a fine stop for the night. great opportunities for astrophotography and sunset photos. saw some buffalo, pygmy owls, and got to float in the salt lake too.
really great stay! the lake is a great swimming temp in june, the views are gorgeous, and there’s plenty of trees and shade. i was lucky to have the spot i was in because there was plenty of foliage to keep my site fairly private. only downside is that the campground is close to the road- it wasn’t particularly busy but you hear it every time a car is coming down the road. other than that, a great spot to camp for a bit of peace and quiet or to break up your drive on your way to another destination
