This campground is very well maintained. There ate concrete pads, picnic table and firerings. There are bathrooms and fresh water hydrants. The bathrooms ate clean. I heard owls hooting, saw some rabbits, and heard coyotes at night. There are drive thru sites for big rigs. There is tent camping. There is a camp host year round. Weather was. Mild views were great.
Stayed one night at Sportman's Beach Campground. Half price for seniors with National Park pass. Peaceful. Bathrooms. Level pull thru sites.
I did not have a reservation and found Ward Mountain Campground on Google maps. The road were well maintained. There were spots that accommodate group camping. No water , electric, or dumping station. There were bath rooms and a dumpster for getting rid of trash. The driveway for site parking was level. There were trees, camp fire ring, picnic table, and flat area for a tent. The view was beautiful. It was peaceful. My dog, Blueberry, and I spent one night. Neighbors were courteous.
The sites are a first come first served basis. There are paved parking pads, concrete table, bbq grill, and fire rings at each site. View of a canyon stream, some coyotes heard at night. There is a restroom with flushable toilets that are clean. There is a free dump station. Rates are $20 per night, $10 for senior or access pass holders.
