We stayed here in mid-March. It was beautiful. Good hiking nearby, great star gazing and over all very peaceful and relaxing. It was cold in March at night so be prepared. Zero cell service so you are certainly unplugged!! Don’t miss other hikes near this camp spot, Kelso Depot is great along with some Lava tunnels and sand dunes.
We visited this campground often when we lived in the Four Corners. Beautiful setting, cool weather, great water. Highly recommend.
This place is AWESOME!! Very clean and quiet. It was about 20 minutes from two beaches where we could take our dog. Great place for families and lots of options other than RV’s or trailers. We are going back in two weeks! Internet and Cable worked great.
At first we were a bit disappointed but overall it turned out to be a good location for going to the Trail of 100 Giants and the Kern River. The WiFi didn’t work and the bathroom only had two showers. It needs to be updated but it was clean and the people were nice.
This KOA was horrible. It was unkempt, the grass was dead, no gravel, no shade and the camp was set up so your camper was in the sun all day. Also, had friends who stayed in a cabin which had roaches. The bathroom was CO-ED - but let me explain. When I say co-ed, I mean a single room with showers and toilets where everyone was in there together so you or your children could be in a shower next to an adult in a shower next to you. It was just awful. Disappointing since it was a great location for visiting Sequoia. Also, it was in an are next to stockyards so it smelled like a stockyard ALL THE TIME! I would expect more from KOA.
This is a top of line KOA!! Scott and Tim have this campground and it’s lodging in tip too shape. Super clean, great grounds and that have daily upkeep. We stayed for 5 days and everyday someone was doing something. Even mowing the lawn while enjoying a cigar. Every night they walked through the grounds to see how everyone was while drinking a glass of wine. Also, we screwed up our reservations and they immediately saved us and we’re able to accommodate an extra day. It’s a bit far from the Yosemite entrance but so worth it! Also, it’s really close to Tahoe, and other great places like Bristlecone Forest. Great location! Love this place!!! One last thing…they will deliver items from their store to your campsite!!!!
It was a typical KOA. Clean bathrooms and showers. Nice store. The pool was awesome. It was graveled so low dirt and dust. It was a 106 so there wasn’t much to do. The cable was good and WiFi was good.
We just returned from a two night stay. It was one of the most beautiful campgrounds ever. It was quiet, shady, clean and small. A wonderful trail is within the campground that takes you to the visitor center and beyond. Only 25 spots and even though they are close, you feel alone. Can’t wait to go back!
