2023 will be my 6th year seasonal camping at the "Whip". This gem really is the best kept secret campground in the Catskills. From it bathrooms to its pool to its general store , playground , basketball courts , bocceball, 7 acre lake and 2 miles of walkable runable paths , Ted & Angela do a fantastic job of keeping the place running like a top. Always clean and always improving services. I consider this placec my home away from home
I have lived 6 miles from this campground for the last 20 years and never knew they had tent sites. The park is clean the bathrooms are well maintained and there is a playground for the kids. Each site is set back off a common area so there is plenty of privacy. It's great if your local easy in and out
This is a great little campground, that goes the extra mile in everything they do. From an effortless check in to free delivery of everything from coffee to firewood to cooked lobsters. Looking forward to heading back next year
Pros - it's clean, nice pool, good playground for kids.
Cons- 1/4 mile off I95 run your ac or you will hear trucks engine breaking all night. A lot of cars in and out of the campground all night. Sites in my area not level. No camp store whatsoever so if you need even the basic of necessities your going to have to leave. If your looking ro crash for the the night it's a good place to it
Spent 4 days at this beautiful State Park. Sites have electric bring and extension cord for some are more then 30' from the pads. The bathrooms were super clean and well maintained. There are 2 convenient stores on the campground property, one also serves hot food to order. There is over 5 miles of paved and unpaved trails. And the park is right on the Lake so you can launch your kayaks straight from the shore line or use the boat ramp for 5 dollars should you have a boat. Most of the pads are level
So Letchworth State Park is beautiful. It's also tremendous, 18 miles long covering the east and west side of the Geneseo River. There is over 100 miles of trails intersecting the park. The campground itself is made up of loops with only electrical hookups , no water or sewer connections , just water spiquets positioned throughout the loop and 1common bathroom in each loop. There is no wifi in any of the camping areas so if you are dependant on it for any reason this is not the place for you. Only at certain points in the park will you get a signal
Swan Bay Resort is exactly that. All of there sites are on slabs, neat and clean hook ups. There is riverviews from just about every site which is nice and then there are sites right on the river, the river sites do face west , so you do get beautiful sunsets. Check-in was smooth and the staff was very helpful. There are plenty of bathrooms and washing machines are in all of them. They offer boat, kayak, and paddle board rentals. They have 2 pools and a tiki bar on site. They looked beautiful but they were crowded and nobody was practicing social distancing , and for me we are still in the unknown with covid so we stayed away. No judging at all just a personal preference call. The shop was mostly chatchskis and except for the normal staple items sewer hoses and stuff of that nature. There is a supermarket that is walkable which was nice. Now for the downside and it's only 1 , this place is a bit pricey. What I spent here for 2 nights I could have stayed a week at a KOA, so I did pay for those beautiful river sunsets.
We were trying to get out of state for a week or so but with so many restrictions in so many states we decided to stay within our own. We have never stayed for any time in the high peaks area of the Adirondaks. This campground has 2 parts to it , the resort side and the 100 acre side. I wanted to stay by the Ausable River and that on the resort side. Check-in was smooth and there campground store has everything you could need for either dry or rv camping . And all the chachskis to boot. This area still is in phase 2 so the pool, and playground and anywhere else people can congregate were off limits. The resort side had views of the mountains looking in 1 direction and the river in the other , the sites were well maintained and the staff were helpful. The only downside thing I can say is there were no bathrooms with showers open. I was told it was because of covid they weren't allowed to be open , However there is no restrictions on bathrooms. They could have only had 1 opened and closed the others they had. I am camping with 5 people in my party that toilet could have come in handy in the morning. Like I said this was my only gripe, and we are in strange times. I would camp here again.
So we came to lazy days to by an RV. The campground itself I'll term a commercial park. The sites are ontop of each other , you are a block off of I4 and 100 yards from a Flying J and TA gas station, if you are looking for quiet and serenity this is not the place. Now for the good stuff. This is the perfect place to take your RV to be pampered. There onsite RV services are incredible, they can do just about everything on your RV while set up on the pad. The pool is heated and screened in, there is a great lil restaurant inside the club house area , laundry, showers and good security at night. And lastly the staff is incredibly helpful and courteous. If your looking for a place to stop and then sightsee Tampa the price point is great
This great little park is nestled into a residential area on Tybee Island. It has all the amenities of a big campground, pool , pavilion, laundry , cabins, full hookups and a cool little general store. Unfortunately for us it was rainy and 40° when we pulled in and it was off season on the island so there wasn't much open. I will be back during the IN season
Was looking for a good halfway stop on our way to Florida. This 25 acre campground is tucked in on the North side of Lake Marion in SC. Great staff friendly and helpful. I'll will be back
State is really trying with this park, putting in new beach front cottages. Other then that the RV and tent camping is horrible, as the previous review stated sites aren't marked and the tables and BBQs are trashed.
Large campground, with almost every kind of camping available through the park. Cabins, trailers, tents, and every type of space for whatever your mode of camping is. Since it is attached to 6 flags you have every amenity available to you . Campstore, cafe, gift shop, showers and laundry. The only negative and for me it's a big negative is that there are no posted speed limits on the grounds, and I found that the majority of people were driving way to fast with so many kids around
This park is run by the state located on the North Shore of Long Island, it's a good place to go if your a local and are looking for the country campground feel. It does sit on Long Island sound so there is beach access , mostly a rocky shore line. It's usually booked on weekends during the summer. Weekdays are easy to book and the price is great..
This is a small beach campground. Its all but impossible to get an RV spot there from Memorial day to Labor day. Still, it is a clean and well run campground.Easy beach access.
My wife and I spent a few days here while searching the area for potential retirement location. It's also a seasonal campground. Bathrooms were spotless, beautiful pool and a nice little waterslide for the kids. Our site was right on water with a great view of the sunset. The barrier Island's are only 5 minute ride over the bridge
I have been coming to Lake George escape for 15 years now and I have watched it's transformation from a family run business to a corporate campground. I loved when it was smaller operational wise, It had a more rustic appeal to it , the camp store was small and just had a dated vibe about it. That being said it's become a big operation. They offer everything now , it really is like being at Disney. The daily schedual for the kids it's non-stop all day , they rent golf carts ,kayaks , pedal carts, canoes .They have cabin rentals , pool , a restaurant ,bar , dancing. It's perfect if you prefer glamping but you can also get a site off grid at the same time. You need to see there website to get a full picture of it.
