Typical, Well maintained campsite in Wharton State Forest

Bodine Field is one of several camping locations within Wharton State Forest.

I am writing this review over a year after our stay so forgive me if the details are lacking.

We set in for an overnight stay in early April 2022.  My daughter was scheduled to have major back surgery in May which effectively shut down out summer camping options for 2022.

Once we arrived at the site we quickly realized we were some of the only brave souls that chose to be outdoors in early April.  It was cold and rainy the entire day and did not get better when the evening arrived.

We had a great time despite the cold and the rain.   I would highly recommend this campsite location!

Coon Creek Cove is a little slice of West Virginia Heaven!

When driving to the property, the road transitions to an unpaved mountain side adventure!  Pay attention!  And enjoy the ride.  Coon Creek Cove is inviting in every way possible.  If you aren't recieivng a happy greeting at the gate from Bindi and Ginger, Then it will most certainly be Nick and Beth there to greet you.  The property is attractively laid out and is fully accessible for all visitors.  Coon Creek Cove is a working farm.  There are several options for camping on the property.  Nick and Beth are extremely accomodating.  Your camping experience can be off grid and "rugged"  or you can have breakfast lunch dinner and firewood delivered to your site!  I have been here several times.  It is my go to camping spot in the State.  It doesn't matter if it is blue skies or rainy and gray   This is a place where you can really enjoy the outdoors on whatever terms you choose.

Tranquil Family Oriented Refuge. Close to Best Beaches in New Jersey!

I took my 11 year old daughter to the campground I used to stay at when I was a child.  Alot has changed at Wippoorwill campground since I was a little kid.  But even with all the changes and upgrades, it still felt like I was home again!  We stayed in one of the cabins.  Which was a perfect compromise when dealing with a child that doesn't want to sleep outside "in the dirt" as she likes to say.  The cabin was very comfortable and spacious for the 2 of us.  We had a great time taking advantage of all the amenities available.  My daughter loved it and we will certainly return next season!
