I live in Seattle and started camping 5 years ago. Now it's a regular summer event with husband, son and friends

Meh

We rented cabins when my sister and her family were in town from Ohio because they don't have camping gear. The cabins were fine, although not a fan of all the rats underneath and around. The location is not good. You walk down to the water next to a fairly busy road, then the view across the water is of some sort of industrial facility (maybe some type of electrical plant or refinery). If you are going to see deception pass stay somewhere else.

Oops! We waited too long to go to Diablo Lake

We were with friends trying to camp at Diablo Lake, but by the time we arrived there was nothing available . So we kept driving and found this campsite the actual site area was fine, there just want much to recommend it. We took chairs down to the river which was pretty fun, but shallow and cold (not for swimming). There's a trail off the campsite, the first part is paved, the rest is dirt with a LOT of trees down on the path

Beautiful location, but no alcohol policy strictly enforced.

Beautiful campgrounds, some sites overlooking the bluff. Great trails and right next to The spit. Only issue is that it is a locally run (county?) park and there's no alcohol allowed they are VERY strict about this policy. So if you are looking for a party camping weekend this might not be the best place for you. Also you need to reserve months in advance.
