This campsite was great, the site was large, clean and nice. It’s close to everything! You can walk next door to golf, walk across the street to the beach and to dine at Bayside Cafe. Site seeing, hiking and biking trails, and shopping and restaurants are just a short drive away. The sunsets are incredible from just about anywhere in the bay.
Be prepared for the sand/dirt, make sure to bring a rug or mat to wipe your feet.
Really neat sites run next to the Truckee River. The sites are clean and well kept. Bathrooms do not have sinks, showers or any running water, only port-a-potties. We went in October 2020 and the early mornings can be quite cold. The temp dropped down into the 30’s between 4-9am, so be prepared, however it warms up quite quick, by 11am it was around 70 degrees. The traffic off the freeway is pretty loud, but the river drowns it out.
The site volunteer manager “Steve” was not very friendly, so be sure to check for updated information on the message board when you arrive, because he will call the rangers on you.
Great campground, lots of space for the kids to run around and great hiking trails. Lake Tahoe is just across the street and the firework show across the lake was incredible, but get to the beach early to reserve your spot.
Great site! Spacious and clean, with a pretty cool creek that runs along the campground. My kids loved it! My only recommendation would be regular bathroom with a shower and to fill in the pot holes.
Great veiws of the ocean! spacious, clean sites and facilities. Lovely bike/walking path. Be prepared for the mist and put your food away, so the little animals don’t eat it. Just a short distance from Haskell Beach and Old Town Goleta.
