Only negative is you must bring your own fireplace and it must be raised off the ground. Parking with our truck and trailer was a little awkward, we were a little too long for the spot we were in and the person next to us had the same issue. The staff was super friendly and everything was well kept. Everything else was pretty much everything you’d expect from an rv park. There’s a $10 round trip shuttle that takes you to downtown Nashville from the campground parking lot which is super convenient!
We loved how close we were to everything! Little town just a minute from the loop entrance for souvenirs, food and whatever else you need, and only a couple minutes from the south rim entrance of the Grand Canyon! The chicken alfredo from We Cook Pizza And Pasta was delicious! Only down side was the N Long Jim Loop road has a TON of potholes so you have to go like 5mph. Lots of spots for all different kinds of campers, rvs, tents. Fire places at each spot. Some sites have neighbors closer than others, our site felt pretty private! LOTS of wild elk in the area.
Clean campground. Nice amount of privacy between campsites, friendly campground host who even gave us free firewood when they were sold out right after a holiday weekend. There was a bear raiding vehicles at night so make sure you lock everything and use the bear boxes provided at each site! Was a great experience. No cell service. Close to town and nice walking trails.
While the drive up was a little sketchy for us with our pull behind trailer, we made it up there. We weren’t really sure where it was either. GPS takes you to a small area that says no camping. Pull through there past the signs and drive up the dirt road. You won’t regret it. Spacious spots with fire pits. Can’t beat those views for free!
Pictures looked like nicely spaced out RV spots with fences for privacy. We had a spot out in the middle of the trailer park baking in the sun with no privacy or shade whatsoever. Website says there’s breakfast and lunch hours but that’s a lie. There’s “self serve laundry” but no change machine, so you must either bring $3.50 for each load or you’re screwed. Tried going to the office during open hours to get change so we could do laundry before the very strict check out (or we’d be charged extra) but nobody was there and there was a sign to call a number if you needed assistance so I tried calling 4 times within a half hour with no answer. There’s a “dish washing station” with the hot water line broken off and barely any pressure on the cold line. Every park in the area was expensive so we went for this one since it seemed to have a few extra “perks”. Too bad we couldn’t use any of them. You also have to pay a $5 deposit to use the toilets/showers which is supposed to be refundable but who knows if I’ll get that back since there was nobody to check out with either. We basically paid $75 to have electric and water hookups for the night. Will not be back.
