Nice spot that wasn’t too crowded

We loved our stay here. We had in my opinion one of the best spots in the campground and the 3 spots around us were completely empty. Easy drive to hikes nearby and the camp store was a good spot to pick up things we forgot. My only complaint was that the bathrooms didn’t have any lights so even during the day you had to use a flashlight to see inside of them. The bathrooms were clean though and I saw someone cleaning them during our stay. Making a reservation was easy on their website and it was nice that they have photos of each of the spots. We will definitely camp here again

Great spot inside the park

I loved this spot! The lake is absolutely beautiful and there are so many different trails branching off of it. We got there at like 3pm on a Tuesday and got one of the last 2 spots, it definitely fills up fast even during the week. Most of the people there were backpackers and everyone was very quiet and respectful of the fact that it was a small campground with no privacy and close proximity to everyone else. Each spot had a raised platform for your tent, bear box, and picnic table. Bathroom was basic but seemed decently clean. It definitely gets cold up there even in mid August so pack warm! My only complaint was the gravel road to get up there, it’s like 15 miles long and it’s rough. Not the worst road I’ve ever been on but it wasn’t fun and it felt like you had to drive it forever. Make sure you have a National park pass for your car but besides there are the first come first serve spots with no permit or fee. We did the Tolmie Peak trail and the trailhead is straight off the campground which is super nice. Would definitely go back here and try to spend more time exploring the surrounding area

Pretty spot, too many people

We stayed here for 4th of July weekend with friends and it was packed full. No privacy at all. The bathrooms are really clean and it’s close to the beach but you will definitely not be alone. Very loud and lots of people. The mosquitos were also pretty bad. If you don’t mind a busy campground though this is a good spot!

I think the pin is in the wrong spot

I’m not sure where the coordinates for this site took us but I don’t think it was to the right place. It was way further away from Capitol Reef than specified and the sites looked different from the photos. We drove out there and it gave us a bad feeling so we turned around and found a different dispersed camping spot closer to the park. There were fire rings and campsites but it just seemed a little bit off.

Perfect spot outside of Capitol Reef

We loved this spot! Lots of roads leading to spaced out campsites. Going past the cattle grate definitely leads you to spots further away from the road. There were quite a few other people there but it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Beautiful view and lots of juniper trees. About 15 minutes from Fruita and the visitor center. Less than 5 minutes into the town of Torrey. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice campground full of people

Right inside the gates shortly after the visitor center. This was a nice campground along the Virgin river but like the rest of Zion it is packed full of people. Sites are pretty close together and you really don’t have privacy. From the shuttles you could look into the tents of some of the campers. Our site was close to the road and was pretty loud with people constantly walking through it. It was nice to be in the park and near the river but just a little too busy for my taste. Had pretty nice bathrooms though and a community water pump.
