Great place to start an adventure. Do be aware that you need a bear container if you are backpacking overnight here and it is super important especially for longer trips. A bear bag won't do you much good. Not speaking from experience, but I have heard some stories. this area is beautiful and there are so many great hikes, mountains, and places to experience the outdoors!
Great Lake views, and hiking trails nearby. Highly recommend renting a boat and having some fun too. With shopping just a bit away it is a great place to be in not so great weather too!
This park was very well maintained. the bathrooms by the beach were clean (you don't see that everywhere, especially at a place with a high usage). The sites were large and grassy, and the beach parking is separate from the camping which is great when you have a family with kids. Beautiful bbq area by the beach and the view from the beach is amazing.
This Ninja suit is the bomb. It was a bit warm for the season but come fall/winter it will be perfect for all of my outdoor adventures. I love the galaxy print and the pockets, and butt zip for easy bathroom stops. It is one of those things you don't realize you need until you have it.
This place is huge! With a pool, community center, mini golf, it is a great summer spot. Very close to Burlington VT and Canada there are many different hiking and adventuring options. It did seem that many of the sites were seasonal. Clean, and well kept.
This water bottle is great, it keeps beverages cold and has become my number 1 bottle. It also comes in a variety of colors and sizes (this one is the 750 mL). I am looking to get another one, possibly the 100 mL in teal or blue. Great bottle, cold, and it's hook is perfect for attaching on a carabiner.
This was a cool campground, it is just 15 minutes from Canada and right across from a bay with a lot of boats! The Camp store is expensive (like your normal camp stores) but it is also very close to Plattsburgh which has the mall and anything you might need. There is a large pavilion and lots of RVs, it looked like there were many seasonal (which it seems like most of the campgrounds near this area are). The staff was very friendly and it was such a pretty location!
Lets talk Cotopaxi- this bag is awesome. I wasn't sure what I was going to end up with with this choose your own adventure bag, but the bright colors are wonderful and I have taken to bring it everywhere- school, hiking, you name it. It is just large enough where I can packet full, but light enough that it is okay if I don't! The drawstring is great, and it also hold a bladder (I used it and the set up works very well). Great product for sure!
Mostly Seasonal area with some overnight spots. No tents allowed. But pet friendly. Small but clean areas with electric at each site. Has some benches outside, a small pool, playground, and community of seasonal campers. I think there was only a few overnighters.
This camp ground can be crowded but it is right near Church street, and the beach is very well maintained, there are life guards on duty at the beach and a playground and grills (claim them early if you want them)
Bring the charcoal and bbq lunch, both picnic tables and grills avalible. Great hikes in this area as well as a nice swimming hole. The views are fantastic, sometimes crowded but worth it for sure. All the facilities are well maintained and the staff are very knowledgable!
Great location, very close to Lake Placid and many different trails. The sites are closer together and not as much privacy in some sections, be sure to reserve to get a prime spot. I took my own TP ( you never know with some parks) and I am glad I did. Bathrooms are a bit run down but great value for how much it costs!
Very unique camp right outside of the city. The lake is beautiful with green/blue hue in which the park gets its name. The beach can get busy during the summer however it is a great place to swim, camp, boat (there are rentals) and enjoy yourself! The hike around the lake is about 2 miles and it totally worth it! Plenty of picnic areas as well.
Just about anywhere you go to explore in Ithaca is spectacular and this park is no exception. Good size campsites with room for a tent or rv, cabins are also available too. What makes this park different from the rest is the short walk to the many smaller falls of the finger lakes region. The staff here are friendly and it is a great place to stay when in the area to adventure no matter what the season!
Be sure to visit the light house on your visit. With standard sites and a beautiful water for fishing this camp ground is great for a weekend or even for a day hike or a nice game of frisbee golf. Lots of history at this place!
This place is amazing, be sure to explore all that the park has to offer, the waterfalls are beautiful. I didn't go in fall, but I suppose the fall foliage with this park would be so pretty as well. Site are clean, spacious, and the park itself is easy to navigate. Bathroom facilities are also clean
This campground has so many different activities, from gem mining to mini gulf, swimming to the water park this campground is perfect for the family. There are games and activities for the whole family and the sites are great for RVs. One thing to keep in mind is although the extras cost a bit, the extras are totally worth it and there is little to no reason to leave the park itself. Be sure to get a picture with yogi while you are there.
There are some amazing falls and caves within this gem. Great campground, more primative as many of the state parks are (in my experience of course), but this one is stunning with views and trails. Because it is very wooded it is a great place to bird watch as well!
Beautiful views (it is Ithaca for goodness sake, it is gorges)! But beware that there is minimal privacy and some sites are close to the highway, so be sure if pick a spot that isn't. Small swimming area is a beautiful location, and overall good experience.
I really enjoy staying at jelly stone parks, each of them have a great atmosphere with activities for families and kids and this one is no different! Be sure to have fun in the pool and slide to cool off on those hot summer days. Sites are spacious and they are very accommodating with larger groups!
This campground will put your mind at ease and let you uncover the lost culture of this unique community. I remember going to the market and learning about culture that I was not necessarily familiar with before. This campground has clean facilities and gives people the chance to camp, relax and enjoy their surroundings.
This place has so many beautiful waterfalls and sights to see! Be sure to take a trip to the fire tower and to the falls. there are many different walks with different difficulty which is nice no matter what who you are with, giving you the ability to explore the outdoors. A lot of interesting rock formations most likely due to weathering. Lake Jean is also right there for boating and recreation.
Great place to picnic and spend some time on the sandy beach. We always have a blast going through the campgrounds on walks to see all the rigs and tents and Hickory Run has many different accommodations available from cabins to areas with only tents. They also have fun environmental programs that they run during the normal season that are very informative.
