So beautiful

I stayed here with just me & one of my girlfriends. Normally I try to camp in a bigger group, and I was slightly worried camping alone with two young females, but it turned out awesome! There was a lovely family who camped next to us & we actually shared breakfast together. Some of the trails in the park were closed, but the ones we hiked were beautiful. There is security for camping and a camp host at every loop. The park was super clean & well maintained. I was very impressed by the bathhouses as well! Loved Greenbrier, another MD State Park checked off! Also hiking Annapolis Rocks is a MUST.

BEAUTIFUL

So… I was planning on camping here in Grayson Highlands and even had a reservation, but when we arrived there was an emergency within the park and we could no longer stay there, but we got fully reimbursed! The rangers were so nice!!! ALthough that was a shame we took a ride around the park and LOVED IT. I will for sure be returning to enjoy this serene park. The trails were extremely icy, but we had arrived during a severe winter storm, but the pictures we had captured were breathtaking. The backpacking trails look well maintained and easy to set camp up in. I personally would prefer to hammock camp while backpacking here because there is a thick brush layer even in late january. Such a shame we missed our opportunity, but had to leave a review because it looked AMAZING.

Relaxed Party Beach

This is a fun mainly RV and Cabin campground. It has a bar on the beach and lots of fun amenities. The camp store/ restaurant has nice options and fun merchandise. The campground is load of fun to walk around, drive a golf cart around, or just people watch. I have stayed in both an RV and  cabin. The RV spots are easy to pull into, in great locations, and decently spaced out. The cabins are very well laid out, has a lot of room, and are super "beach bummy." The cabins are fairly pricey, but worth the cost! I have only stayed here on the "off seasons" but have been impressed. The place does have a bit of a trash problem, but that is due to the people staying here. It is not a wonderful place for the kids as it does remain quite loud at night and it is a partying place, but I have always camped with my family with younger children and faced no problems. The beach bar is VERY strict about being 21 or older and can get extremely rude about it, but it is understandable. Overall a great place to stay!

Fun for the kids!

This vacation beach RV park is super fun for the kids. They have old time plays, skits, and activities. The ability to rent golf carts is a super cool bonus especially to get the surroundings. I stayed in a large cabin with another family. The cabin was very nice western themed. There is a camp store that is slightly pricey, but expected, a saloon, an ice cream shoppe, an AWESOME waterpark, and the theme park. The waterpark is simple and not grandiose but so. much. fun. This is such a fun stop!

Cozy Mountain Vibes!

I stayed in Hickory Run in late November, I love the sheer elements of nature found in this park. It is so calm and beautifuls with trails scattered throughout the entire park. I will definitely come here again to experience the poconos in different conditions. It was very cold when I camped here, but not miserable! There are nice bathhouses, mental hangers for trash and food, and roads are very well maintained. I love Hickory Run!

Beautiful and wild

Me and my boyfriend stayed here during our road trip through VA, we stayed in late January. It was COLD, but I love a camping challenge. We got there in the dark and had no clue what we were walking into. The bathrooms were compostable toilets, the sites were beautifully maintained. On the way we got a personal call that the campground was quite flooded and they recommended different sites. When we woke up it was beautiful! We saw in the early morning a coyote and a great horned owl. We also saw many types of hawks, song birds, and eastern bluebirds! I was amazed by the sheer amount of wildlife. The cabins on the other hand, were breathtaking. They were absolutely beautiful with amazing views. I felt like I was in the midwest! I will 100% return to this campground to just enjoy the park instead of rushing out!

Beautiful, wooded, solitary

This is beautiful NRMA and has thick serene woods. Oftentimes people are found taking engagement, wedding, and graduation pictures in this beautiful landscape. Bugs get quite bad in the summer months. This NRMA is allotted for group camping and difficult to get in without proper documentation, but amazing once you get to the reward.

I would LOVE this area to be opened for public primitive camping, but I do not see this occurring in the near future.

Nature nature nature

The woods are full of nature and diverse. species. We counted over 17 different species of fungi in a 25 foot stretch! I loved staying in the beautiful cabins and enjoying the nature strolls. Would most definitely return.

Cozy Cabin

I stayed in a group of 5 people to camp and hike in Pocomoke River State Park. I am a local of the eastern shore and wanted a little getaway that was not too far from home. The twin bunk beds were extremely comfortable and felt rather large with two of us sleeping in them. The cabin stayed warm and exceeded expectations. The hikes were a nice little nature stroll with well maintained trails and was very clean! We would for sure stay here again, especially when we start to have families of our own.
