You can’t turn around in this town and not see something labeled Ruby’s. Which is cool. Staff was very friendly. Squeezed us in (literally) with no reservations on a Saturday in August.
Sites are all gravel with some trees. Hookups are a bit forward so be prepared. Looked like all sites had a table and some had fire rings. Most sites like ours were not level at all, so again be prepared.
Facilities were clean, bathroom/shower is group style (not private rooms). Laundry area is huge, tons of washer/dryers. General store has all the basics; food, ice, wood, rv supplies.
Shuttle to the park is right there. They also have a public dump station for those in need.
Will definitely stay again if in the area.
First of all staff is amazing, so friendly and consistent maintenance routines (not annoying though).
Sites are all gravel with a little grass patch, pull through sites could fit two side by side. All sites seemed to have a table and fire ring. The views on the north and east were stunning, North was all back in and East had some pull through spots, aim for these if you can. They also have tent and cabin sites available.
Facilities were very clean. Office/general store was nice, all the basics; food, ice, wood and souvenirs. Pool is small but well kept. There is a large park area in the center with a playground and volleyball court. Super kid friendly. Bathroom/shower were very clean, a little reminiscent of my scouting days though having plywood doors and gate hinges, does the job though.
Only bad things I can say is that it’s not walking distance to town and no adult beverages sold. Plan ahead and that should not be a problem.
I will definitely stay here again given the chance.
Well uhh… That’s what the sign said… Staff is very friendly, and sites are fairly well kept. Bathroom/showers were clean but in dire need of a pick me up as they just seemed run down Lots of tent sites if your in need, rv sites were tight some with plenty of shades others not.
No pool, playground, laundry, designated dog walk (several dogs off leash roaming the grounds).
Probably would not stay again
While this might be the best Escalante has to offer it’s a bit of a let down. My first put off is when they told me they charge extra for children over seven, I guess that’s because they will be using the playground or pool area, oh wait they don’t have those…
Sites are all dirt and gravel (which I’m fine with) however they are so tight if you have a slide out your awning is in your neighbors area. They are all full hookups that’s a plus. However some sites have tables others don’t and no fire rings so bring your own. Some trees for shade but not much.
General store is pointless, as of posting there is a taco truck in front that seemed somewhat popular. We opted to walk next door to the circle D BBQ (great food and staff).
Facilities were very clean but small, one each men and women’s shower/bathroom, laundry area two each washer/dryer and they are open to the public.
If I choose to stay in the Escalante are again I would probably stay again, only because it’s the best Escalante has to offer.
