Crap wifi, loud (highway), incredibly rude owner

I wouldn't stay here again. The owner is a total weirdo. He's nice when you check in but then becomes a total bipolar creepy weirdo after. There are people on Google Maps that say the same thing. He made my girlfriend feel incredibly uncomfortable.

Also the WiFi is total shit, cell service with AT&T is not good at all (like 2 bars), it's right beside a highway so it's loud all night. Facilities are mediocre.

I would go somewhere else but if you're in a pinch this will do. Just keep your kids and lady away from the owner.

No AT&T service

This was a well developed campsite but has no cell service. It's a great gateway to the Red Rock area but if you are looking for somewhere to go and work just outside of the city, this isn't the spot. I was there during the week and there was only one site left so book it in advance if you can.

Good urban boondocking

Thanks to whoever posted this. I had a hard time finding a good boondocking site in the city and this one is great. It looks like some construction will be going on nearby so be sure to check out the satellite view on Google Maps to make sure it hasn't been developed or something before you come. But as of 11/03/2020, it was a good boondocking site.

Dry camping with great views

There are several spots along Lovell Canyon Rd that you can disperse camp at. If you want to get more than 30 feet off the road then you won't want to do it in an RV, the roads are rough. I came on a Sunday in October and there quite a few people camped along here so grab one of the first that you see. Use the satellite view in Google Maps to find some clearings in the brush. The main road is not very active at night so it's a pretty peaceful sleep.
