We used to love this place, and was our overall favorite place to camp until our last trip. The owners of this place are rude and treat you like a piece of meat. They have done an incredible job with their campground, two pools, a restaurant, mini golf, ice cream, etc. However their negative attitude and rudeness destroys it all. If you can camp here and not have to interact with them, your good. But if you need to deal with them in anyway, you wish you hadn’t. Buyer beware!!
Awesome location for camping, and is right on Lake Michigan. However, there is no grass and is pretty much all sand. As long as that doesn’t bother you, you will have a great time camping here.
If you are an adult with other adult friends… this is the place to be. However, if you have young children, this place can get a bit rowdy and loud due to the type of campers it attracts. Fantastic views of the dunes, easy access to everything, nice beach on Silver Lake. This is a total party place!
Absolutely fantastic place to camp. They just about cover everything you could ever ask for in a state campground. You have to book your dates far in advance to get in here, but for obvious reasons. A+ camping experience!!
This is a nice little spot if you have everything you need with you. The campground is small and compact, which is either good or bad… depending on your neighbors. Beach access is nice, and within walking distance of your lot. However, there is nothing close by to get essentials if needed without a bit of a drive. Campground hosts are very friendly and accommodating, which gives you that homely feeling when you arrive. They could improve their severely outdated playground equipment, and maybe update a few things to greatly improve their surroundings. Overall though, a nice little place to get away right next to the lake.
Sleep Hollow is one of our favorite places to camp due to the secluded spots that give you that “up north” private feeling… however, the lake/beach access is no where close to the campground and has to be driven too in order to access. A small price to pay for a great camping experience.
Not a bad place to go camping without having to leave the city. Good for a close and convenient camping trip with friends and/or family.
Great campground, but more for families with younger children. Great staff, great events, always a fantastic time!!
The campground is great, but the beach area is very mucky and dirty. Seaweed just flats around and gets tangled around your legs and arms all the time. Good, but not great!
Absolutely love this place. Only downfall is no water hookups on site.
