We stayed here for two nights. The campsite is well maintained and the the aspens help make each site feel secluded. A little on the pricy side for rent camping ($30/night). Close to many activities such as biking, fishing, and trailheads.
Wide variety of campsites here close to the Colorado trail and two 14ers. Where we camped was a cow field and they came and went so would be careful with dogs.
Parking for the campsites is limited to just off of the road. This is good for preserving nature but means parking got very tight on the weekend. I enjoyed the open views and the ridge to the East. Campsite had a fire ring, tent, and a single vault bathroom (typical). This seemed to be a pretty good base camp for mountain bikers and people with 4x4 toys. Bring your own shade because there is none and it gets hot here (102F in April). Next time I am here, I would like to continue down the road and see what 4x4 camping is further down.
This campground is ~25 minutes from downtown Moab. The road in is scenic and a fun drive and continues past the campgrounds for some 4x4 driving. The sites are spread out and the views were great. There is no shade anywhere nearby so make sure to bring your own. Fun area to walk around and climb rock features for better views. Had a standard vault bathroom and trash services.
We stayed at the tent camping spots by the river for one night on our trip back to Denver. The tents sites were widely available since it was a Sunday night but I could see it being a little crowded during peak times as the tent sites are close together (However, they only allow one tent per a site so big groups would have to rent multiple spots and this will keep things more calm and not over-packed). The tent sites have a table, fire ring, and shade cover by trees. The amenities (bathroom, shop, pool) were unexpected but very nice! I would stay here again as it is clean, not too expensive, good shade, access to the river, and close to downtown Palisades for wine tastings.
