Boondocking with plenty to do

20 a site, dry. There are a few sites that have trees surrounding the sites, offering a bit of privacy. A few sites are open and face the resort and road. Potable water and dump station on grounds. 15 per adult (over 18, per day) to get into the hot springs. Pool and hot tub also available. Hiking trails, fishing in the Beaver Lake, and a tour of the ice castle. Restaurant/bar has great food and all of the workers were congenial. We enjoyed our time and will stay again!

Clearwater campground

12 sites, 11 miles off the main highway and next to a beautiful, crystal clear creek. Hand water pump, no hookups available. Only two other people in the campground on a Friday night. Bathrooms were not maintained well during our visit.

Quiet, secluded, free dump station

Great place to boondock at $12 a site. We brought our lite trailer and site 10 was a perfect pull through with little leveling needed. We haven’t had luck fishing at the lake, but the campground is clean, limited amount of people, and there is a free dump station.
Sites 1-20 have some pull throughs and are better for bigger rigs. Sites 21-50 are smaller, with a few bigger sites, no pulls through though. We will come back here again!

King Mountain

Clean, close to the highway, and a great night stay! Pretty level site was a bonus. Boondocking for the night.
