I'm not sure what you'd do for more than a day in La Junta, but this was a great overnight spot for us in late September. (Old Bent's Fort is worth the side trip). Not crowded and restrooms were clean. Nice pull through sites, cute older playground, and a pool if you're in season. Late arrival instructions were obviously posted.

This is our first visit to Lake City so I've nothing to compare it to, but I loved this RVPark. Linda was gracious and accommodating. Bathrooms were spotless AND warm. We are at tail end of season so the park was not full at all, but even if it had been there are tables and trees between each site keeping from feeling claustrophobic. We drove past the other RV Park in town - on Henson Creek - you are on the river, but also on the highway and it was packed in. Elk Horn is off the highway nestled against the mountain, and just 4 block walk to "down town" Lake City. Highly recommend this spot. Call to make reservations. Linda gets right back to you. We also stayed on one of the cabins to give kids more trailer room. You provide the top bedding, but there was a queen bed and a bunk (so 4 could sleep easy). No bathrooms in the cabin but your close to the bathrooms.

If you're here to see Canyonlands, Hovenweep, Escalante and even Arches this is a great spot. Or skip all the crowds and play in the Manti La Sal Mountains. Moab is about 1 hour away, but the drive is easy. And this RV Park is quiet and quaint. You've got shower and bath and laundry and a great host and owner. Very neat and clean bathrooms, just not new. Restaurant next door always had a crowd in the evening so it must be good, but we didn't try it. Just stopping by or staying awhile this is a peaceful and safe place to park. We'll be back!

Clean, but it's on the industrial edge of Cortez. Thankfully it had a nice view of the Mesa Verde mountain range from many sites. We happened to be in a site directly behind one of the cute cabins that have a premium view. Gravel drive and pads. Utilities back to back. Laundry and restroom were clean.

Beautiful spot on the Delores River. $8/night. Lovely babbling sounds from the river as it heads south from the San Juan Mountains - after being captured and released from McPhee Reservoir. Interesting story that chronicles the river and jumps off from this site ( https://www.outsideonline.com/2399557/dolores-river-colorado-climate-change ). Vault toilets (please remember to keep the lid down). Water available from central pump. Must haul trash out. On a Sunday there we two other campers. Nice and quiet! Long well graded gravel road from Hwy 491.

Easy spot over the border in Colorado. We were there as a jump off to head further West from North Texas area and made it well before dark to hook up. Nice clean park with all the amenities. We had a nice spot on the east side of the park. As someone also mentioned the north west corner of the park is directly across from a horse stable yard and your nose will know that. Tons to do if you like the outdoors in the Spanish Peaks region. We'd stay here again.
