Hammock’Sway is a magical place to visit. The energy of the land draws you in and makes you feel at home. Host, Chris, is incredible, as he is eager to share his vast knowledge on his property and surrounding life. Any site on this campground provides the perfect opportunity for real, authentic primitive camping, offering freedom and true disconnect from society. I absolutely cannot wait to revisit this life-changing, soul-finding discovery of a property. Thank you Chris, again and again, for sharing such a warm and welcoming stay.
I am not sure if we had reserved our campsite before the official season began or not, but it seemed like a dead park to me. The lake had been drained, we were the only reserved site in our loop, and they were constantly cutting trees down around the property. The camp hosts no longer sell firewood, although there is a small market off the highway that does sell pretty decent wood bundles. The bathrooms do seem to get cleaned, although upon our arrival none of the four on our loop had been. Being practically the only ones there, it was nice to use a bathroom to dry personal supplies. Not a bad experience was had, but I do not think I would pay to visit Krul Lake again.
We arrived at a very clean, gravel campsite with a picnic table, fire ring, water & electric access, as well as a clothes line. Because we were tent camping, the gravel made it difficult to pitch our tent on site. Luckily, we had enough space and privacy on our site to unload the car and sleep in the trunk of it. The bathrooms were kept very clean, and the showers were fantastic! The beach itself is kept extremely clean and is beautiful. The volunteers do a wonderful job around the campground. Here you will find a family friendly stay! I would for sure visit Henderson Beach again for the clean facilities, beautiful beach, and local attractions.
