Loud very drunk people are everywhere in the summer if that is your think you will love it. If not maybe try a weekday.
It is a very small place to park close to 69 highway and a public golf course.
Breath take views, fun and very scenic kayaking as well canoeing, and great hiking. However you have to drive down a very sketch “road” to the camp site. Do not try the road in a rear wheel drive or low profile vehicle.
Paved roads to all the way to your camp site, showers, and a fantastic dinner 5 minutes away may not sound like luxury but Arkansas hllls usually make you work hard to enjoy their beauty. This site is amazing not only is the rock face the camp ground is named after a true natural beauty in the camp ground the river is deep enough to swim there as well. It was a very calm and quit environment.
Prairie state park isn’t very large but it is nice to see somewhere dedicated to preserving the native grassland that the Midwest used to be covered with. The main draw for me other than it being close to where I live is that you get to be around buffalo with out fences. It is a surreal experience and worth the time to locate the herd in the park.
This campground is quite and beautiful. A real bob Ross of a campground, however the drive down the Arkansas hill to this serene location is a tense frustrating and should not be attempted with a real wheel drive or low profile vehicle.
