Right in Custer a big campground with a variety of sleeping options. We had booked two nights here and left within two hours of being there. The road noise for the campsites was constant and significant. The view was industrial from the tent sites. As campers we were disappointed but the facilities and staff were lovely. Great showers, lovely pool, fun shop with pretty much everything you’d need. Wouldn’t recommend for camping but I’m sure the huts and RV sites were more relaxing. If you need a place close to Custer and aren’t going for views or quiet this is a good place to be. Otherwise there are some great options 10 minutes from Custer in the woods with lovely views.
Great campsite, we camped for two nights as a last minute switch. Day of reservation there were two sites left. The camp host was helpful and lovely. There was firewood available for purchase on site. Positives: Beautiful views of meadowy forests. Peaceful campsite that was clean and had running water. Pretty big campsites for tents of multiple sizes. Lots of places for hammocks to be hung up but make sure to bring long straps. Only a short drive to Custer! Negatives: The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because there is a decent amount of road noise during the day from the main road. It does die down at night and didn’t bother our sleep. Inconvenience: The water spigot at the bottom of the hill doesn’t work but it is a short walk up the hill to the main area for water.
