Oof… don’t do it!

Yikes… I found this place while searching on Google Maps and the website does NOT match what this park is actually like. It’s very unkempt, understaffed, and smells so. bad. It’s next to a highway and a date farm. The front desk person gave us the wrong code to get in after hours and we couldn’t get a hold of anyone to get us in. We finally figured out that we could just climb over the small 2 ft wall and activate the other side to get the gate to open. It is not worth $40. Oh! And they do not accept Passport America!

Lots of boondocking spots!

We drove up in our 34 ft RV at 8:30pm and there were lots of spots available! We watched the sunset and moonrise and laid on our astroturf to watch the stars with our kids. 10/10 would recommend!

Beautiful place for open camping!

We drove in after dark and had no trouble finding the area. The area is extremely open and overall flat. We found a good spot at the base of the hills, which I think helped keep some of the intermittent wind down, which was blustery and cold in February. I climbed to the top in the morning at sunrise and snapped a wide angle shot. We saw one other car there, but they were far away and their light was faint. Very quiet, could only hear the intermittent wind gusts.

Great minimalist and open spot by the riverside

Great spot, easy to find and close to river. The area looks like a fishing put-in, but we were the only ones there. Cold and consistently windy when we were there. Heard light noise from the highway, barges and train, but nothing disturbing. Beautiful sunrise and interesting wildlife to look at.
