This state park in eastern SD is a great t place to camp, there are two modern camping areas, a swimming beach several boat launches, handicap accessible fishing dock. There is a a horse trail and trail campsites.
We only stayed one night, but would love to go back. Great place to camp if you are visiting Mackinaw island and want to avoid the crowds and expense. it's a beautiful destination on its own. with great views of Mackinaw Bridge. Book early for a waterfront camp. shower and restrooms were well maintained on the busy 4th of July week. Nice trails, and very helpful campground hosts. Campsites are close together, but there are lots of trees for shade and privacy. Our spot was very level and most appeared to be. Each site has fire pit and picnic table.
