Such a big lake, every time I go it's a whole different experience . Best thing about this lake is back up to water & pitch ur tent.. no set camp area, just make yourselves comfy where u choose .
Mile Long Beach that is located in the middle of San Diego & Los Angeles, has 160 campsites and 72 RV trailer sites.. less than a 5 min trail walk to beach which is the bonus! Plenty of flushing restrooms , and coin operated showers to get the ocean off you at end of day.
Perfect for the campers that still want amenities , such as showers, flush toilets and running water.. Campsites had campfire ring, picnic table at each site.. had cell service every now and then can hear traffic from a nearby Main Street which meant to close to town for me..
Great campsites walking distance to Horton Creeek trail, has fire ring, table, and level tent area for easy set up. 9 campsites which are at first come basis. Camp Host was friendly and kept place outstanding!
Some campsites were just recently upgraded with metal picnic tables.. Fishing was on point this Labor Day holiday ..
FYI- be sure to put food away nightly , the cows are no joke.. They get into everything !!!
If your big into swimming/floating / boating & kayaks and jet skis this the the place to camp.. Back right up to the lake , pitch a tent and your set up for fun..
When u want out of Az heat just a drive out of Tucson is camping & hiking .. Even day pinics if your not up for the overnight stays.. But a one night is a must :)

Private rent -a-lake…..it's a 19 acre of lake, plenty of wilderness.. Amazing campsites , center ramada & campfire area with private area for camp setup. No running water, outhouse not port a potties.. But the fishing & wilderness make up for that.
Everything close by, buses to Grand Canyon ( perfect for hikers) campsites a little close to each other , but I understand they are trying to accommodate many travelers . General store has everything . Will stay again on my next hiking adventure of Grand Canyon
