Great Campground Near Beach

We enjoyed our stay. We were at campsite #51. It was private and fit our 35 foot fifth wheel perfectly. We are a family of four with two kids , age 7 and 12. The beach is a short bicycle ride away. However, for a day at the beach, we took our truck to make it easier to haul everything. There was plenty of parking. The beach is gorgeous. We went three days in a row and had calm the first day and boogie board waves by the third. The sand is very soft and clean. The water is crystal clear too. It was also not crowded since it is for campers and day use only. You have to pay to get in the park. All the sites are full hookup. There is a shower house but it wasn’t the greatest. We we’re pleasantly surprised by the washer and dryer on site. It was $2 (in quarters) per load. The site was all gravel and fairly level. The fire ring was in the corner of the site which made it hard to sit around. There are two poles to hang a hammock or clothesline on. We hardly encountered any bugs. All in all, we would come back and recommend this campground to anybody!

Nice Campground in the Mesa

The campground is tucked away and a little hard to find. We chose it because it had electric hookup, had availability on Labor Day weekend and it was near a lake. We were on site #2. It was one of the few almost level sites. Almost all sites have a parking pad and a picnic pad above or below the parking and shade. There is no cell service. The vault toilets seemed clean but smelled bad most of the time. Being near the lake was a definite plus. It was gorgeous! Definitely bring a SUP or kayak. The hiking is minimal from the campground. However, there are some awesome trailheads a short drive away. Most are hikers only, no bikes or horses.

Convenient

We stayed here in June on our way home to Colorado from Utah. We wanted to be near the North Rim of Grand Canyon. It was only a 45 minute easy drive. It is a very pretty campground. There are lots of trees and shady spots. It was very windy and a cold front was coming through. The public lands were on a fire ban so no campfires. We stayed at site 33. There are no utilities or dump station. Jacob Lake Inn is across the street with gas, convenience store, bakery, cafe and gift shop. The vault toilets are very clean and odor free. We have Verizon and had two bars. There is a short trail through the woods which the kids enjoyed.

Perfect Park!

We used this park as our base camp for exploring Utah’s National Parks. Bryce, Zion and Capital Reef are all very doable day trips. Plus, the hikes and bike trails are pretty rad in Kodachrome itself. Grovesnor’s Arch is nearby and you can get up close. We were at site 29 with full hookup. It had shade and beautiful views. The full moon lights up the park and star gazing is fabulous. There really isn’t a bad site in the park, it just depends if you need utilities or not. The bathrooms and showers are clean and the best we have seen for a State Park. Red Dirt Laundry is very convenient too. We are a family of four. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the park too. There is no cell or wifi service.
