Location is the best feature

The location of this site is truly the best feature. It's a 1/2 block off main street on the south side- close to 2 Mile Brewing. We found it by chance as we had something else booked 17 miles outside of town. We felt lucky to find this and booked right away. We arrived around 2pm and like many areas in Leadville, it was a gravel and uneven driveway. No problem though- we parked by what we thought was an office based on all the signs and after knocking and waiting around, a man yelled"can I help you?" and I said"we're here to check in" and he said"for what?"-! Turns out he was the manager I guess? still don't know but he confirmed our reservation and walked us down to site#27. Like others have said, the sites are all very close but that's what I expect when booking an"RV Park". the neighbors seemed full time, which was fine. They were all quiet and hats off to the guy smoking his brisket at 3am. The hook ups worked fine and the wifi was good. The big issue I had was the restroom/showers and laundry all had door codes and Mr Can I Help You never mentioned what the codes were. I called every number I could find, left many messages, went to the office and left a message per the instructions on the Ring doorbell but never heard a word back. The next day, we finally found this guy again and he told us the codes. I was angry about the time it took and mostly the inconvenience of not being able to use the services we paid for- and very much needed after being on the road awhile. Their response time is zero, so if you have a problem don't expect it to be resolved.

River Side Campground

We found this campground on the road from MN to FL and overall enjoyed the one night.  We bought wood at a small local store on the road going into site as they were closed by the time we rolled in.  there's a gate code they called us with and that was easy - we camped on the river side and did not explore the other side.  Our site was along the river on the map, but in reality you don't really see the river much due to vegetation.  There was a lot of poison ivy along the edges of our site too.  We have a 21' camper van so it was plenty big for us and easy to get into.  The bathrooms were about a 5-6 minute walk up a slight hill, past a playground being put together.  The shower was nice, although there was only 1 in working order when we were there.  We did not explore very much except to drive to the falls on our way out the next morning - we were putting a lot of miles on each day, and I think this would be a great place to try again.  We did not have phone/internet service (Verizon), which was ok for one night.

Wonderful

We found this while traveling from FL to MN - basically needed a place to stay for the night.  What a gem and wonderful night!  We made online reservations and checked in, tried to switch sites (which turned into a hassle) and ended up in site #21.  On their not to scale map, that site looks crowded and not close to the water, but it's actually a gorgeous site.  That part of park, the sites are long and narrow, but we never felt close to our neighbors.  They have built these circa 1972 concrete bunkers for the picnic table and a few other tables (to clean fish?) so that part of each site is strange, but the fire pit was nice and we had a wonderful meal.  There are stairs up to the camper - just fyi.  The bathrooms are very clean and the showers had good water pressure and hot water.  Very quiet in the week leading up to Memorial Day weekend.  I'd recommend and stay again if we are in the area.
