Great last-minute, hike-in option

Great campsite with picnic tables and fantastic view for sunset. Came FCFS and the ranger at the parking lot usually lets you know if it's full or available before you go up.

Super convenient to exploring Crater Lake!

Best convenient option for camping and exploring Crater Lake. Biggest complaint would be how close together the sites are. Successfully got lucky with FCFS - arriving Friday at 1pm.  All sites have picnic tables, fire ring, bear box. Mazama store also convenient for any last-minute needs. Unfortunately it was kind of rowdy for us on Saturday night, due to some partyers next door. Annual national park pass gets you 50% nightly camping rate.

Great FCFS sites close to coast

3 sites are currently closed due to COVID to encourage social distancing; sites fill up quickly on weekends; no on-site camp host, but Cal Fire does come through to write receipts and pick up trash. Not sure if there's water (we brought our own). Good option if needing first come first serve sites since all of the state parks are reservation-only currently. All sites have fire ring and picnic table, also some access to the creek/river bed below to explore. Really convenient to Fort Bragg (30 min away) or Willets (30 min away). No cell service. Only possible complaint would be that you can hear the road noise, but get used to it after awhile.

Cute, small campground with great creek access, amazing host

T-mobile didn't really have cell service much in the area. Dawn is an EXCELLENT camp host - she definitely added joy to our stay, and also checked on everyone in the evening. Great campground next to river; there's a sliding rock and swimming hole next door (not crowded when we visited July 4th weekend); If Middle Fork is full, there's also Pipi campground(quicker to go back to Highway 88 to get there vs. driving around the entire section). Stayed in site#6, which was closer to the road but felt very secluded. Dawn also usually has firewood for sale as well.

Nice option with beach access - great for weekdays, crowded/noisy weekends

Full cell service at campground; host was not friendly at all; campfire wood available for purchase; nice small beach area; wouldn't recommend for weekends b/c it gets more crowded/noisy, but good option if needing first come first serve option. Site 15 is a great reservable spot (see photo) that's right next to a beach access pathway; but 14 right next door is a good FCFS option. All sites also have a camp fire ring, picnic table, and bear storage bins.
