The last five miles to get to this campground was narrow and rocky. Once we got to the campground, I realized narrow and rocky are okay. We were there last weekend in June and there was still snow on the ground. Woot! It was awesome. Quite a few sites there with fire rings, beat up, bear boxes that didn't open and picnic benches that were in bad shape. They had two pot toilets. This was a very busy campground. Lots of traffic on and out, I'm sure to beat the heat. It was 25 degrees cooler up there than in Sacramento. We loved this campground. I can't wait to go back.

This campground was easy to find. You can see some of the spots from the little turn off road. Each site had a fire pit, a picnic table, trash can and a pole with a hook (where I think is a perfect place to hang the lantern). From what I could see, this isn't really any easy creek access. We didn't see THAT many cow pies, we didn't even see any cows. Haha. We did get a nice mother nature sponsored light show. See video.
During the breaking down of our campsite we found a scorpion. We carefully relocated it across the way. We also noticed the building of some new sites. They have pit toilets here.

Getting here was super easy. Don't need high clearance vehicle. Lots of trees, two or more pit toilets. Great rocks structures and lots of fire pits. We didn't go into any caves, don't feel safe doing that. We enjoyed some really crazy thunder and lighting and rain. Super cool. We would go here again.

It was an easy road in. I think we got confused about where all the sites were. After two river crossings, there are a couple more sites, the nice fella let us know. The spot we stayed was big enough for our iKamper annex, which is sizeable(check pictures). We will probably go here again at some point to check out the other sites.

This place was pretty easy to find, right off Hogback road. There are a couple of sites here, we picked the first one. After an hour or so two vans showed up and parked on the other side of the creek. This site is so close to the road, we could see them make the turn off Hogback road. No trees, just bushes. It's okay. Pretty basic. Great views of the backside of Mount Whitney.

Hogback Creek road camp site notes. We drove all the way up Hogback Creek road. We found a place that looked okay to camp. We didn't camp there, it wasn't level. The road had a few bigger rocks to go over. I would recommend a high clearance vehicle. A bit further past the potential camp site, the road narrows quite a bit. We could hear the creek at this point.
