It's been a couple years from what I remember, but my friend and I stopped here during a road trip! Great for viewing stars and just great in general. The descriptions is exactly how the site is set up. If you're heading down to GA, I would recommend stopping by Cloudland Canyon!
A few friends and I planned to crash here back in 2018 for just one night since we were planning to visit the quarry for 2 days. As soon as we got there, it seemed poorly maintained and almost abandoned. We left right away after seeing what was left and decided that it was not safe especially when we were mostly all 18 year old girls. The quarry was pretty though! Please bring it back!
Get ready to spend the days and nights with about a hundred other people! The hike up is about a mile but once you're finally up, you'll never want to go down.
This site is perfect if fishing and boating! Many people come here to fish but unfortunately that is not my thing!
I stayed here only for a night and came when it was very dark outside! It's the perfect place to enjoy time away from civilization and just relax and watch the stars at night. Just like any other remote site, make sure to pack smellables away because I encountered some 4 legged animal hovering my tent in the middle of the night! I wish I had more pictures but it was getting pretty dark when I arrived so I had to pitch my tent right away and left early in the morning due to heavy rain.
Backpacked the trail for about 16 miles for a one night and two day trip! The trail is well marked and very secluded once you get past the main tourist attraction. If you're new to backpacking, this is the perfect place to get used to hiking with weight on your back for 8+ hours a day!
