This park has great access to a beautiful beach. A lot of surfers which was fun to watch. Not familiar enough with CA to judge but just to mention, you have to buy tokens to take a shower. We were told it was $2 for a 4 min shower. When you actually get to the shower it’s $2 for 2 mins. The sites are spread out enough you’re not right on top of your neighbor but they are still close and it was crowded! A lot of bikes and activity going on pretty late into the night.
The campground itself was clean and facilities well maintained. There is very little shade in the park and you have to drive to get down to the lake. Even if you stay at the resort, the water is so low it’s a HIKE down to the beach.
Goblin Valley is like you’re visiting another planet! Our site was beautiful, restrooms and showers were clean. Park was quiet at night and DARK! Our kids especially loved this park, being able to climb around in the hills behind our site.
Stayed here for two nights visiting Durango. This place is set up well, well maintained, good facilities, nice staff and the trains run right through it! Great laundry space and showers were clean. Only negative I could come up with is the sites are pretty close together.
Beautiful scenery and nice sites. Had a power outage for a bit, no running water or lights in restroom was a pain at the time. Obviously camping there are critters, but when my daughter saw a large black widow on our tent she had a little freak out. Just check your picnic table and keep an eye out.
This park is in a beautiful spot and is well maintained! Quiet and nice bathrooms/showers. Would for sure visit again if out that way.
