Single mom looking for camping

Big, windy and BIG!!

Lake Berryessa is a large lake that has many turnouts to fish or even stop for a quick stretching of the legs , even saw a few turnouts with picnic tables and clean bathrooms. Some of the areas around the Lake had stores and marinas to launch your boat. Rentals for water crafts were also available but some did not have smaller rental fishing boats . The view of the hills that looked so large while you are at the lake was so beautiful . Wildlife was seen throughout the day and the weather was great.

Quaint, camping with kids 3 and up.

The Browns Millpond campsite was a last minute trip to Bishop. The campsite was small for tent campers and had hookups for RV's. The camp had showers, toilets and even a fish cleaning station. What I liked most about this camp site was that there was a stream running through the entire campground. Kids from 3 and up were playing in the water near the camp sites. It was great to see kids playing in a natural stream having a good time. The water and trees made for a comfortable place to rest and re-energize. Millpond also had a archery field that was quite large and a larger pond surrounded by beautiful trees and even had a well kept baseball field. The larger pond had fish and also for older kids to play. I would definitely go again.

Weekend reset

With the desire of getting out of Orange County, Lake Campground was a perfect destination that was not far and yet it put you in touch with solitude. Lake Campground have small but roomy sites that gives the area a wonderful feeling . quiet, and well shaded . the terrain in some spots made it difficult to stage tents chairs etc with out giving a slanted feeling.tough on the shins. But it was a very nice and comfortable area. The water spicket was close as well as the restrooms. There are no showers but I highly recommend investing in a pop up shower tent and shower bag. Lake Campground is a short walking distance to Jackson Lake which is good for fishing for kids and splashing in the water . My family will be visiting again soon.

Walkup campsite was a WINNER!

The previous day Lake Campground was the destination, with hopes of adding another night to my weekend, But to no avail we were given an option to move over from site number 2 to Mtn Oak campground which was about 1/4 mile from Lake Campground. the area was clean had shad, flushing toilets and water spickets close to all campsites. The evening was beautiful with a show of brilliant stars that speckled the night sky. The campsite was flat and roomy. It was a great location and will be back again.
