Delightful campground by the river

A well run campground with newer bathroom and shower blocks. The rangers were delightful and the camp host was kind and helpful. We were in spot 54, which is close to the river so you can hear the water all night. Because we were there in November, fires were allowed, so we didn't put our tent in what would be the most ideal place (next to the fire pit in the corner of the spot). Instead we ended up in the middle of the campsite and the light from the bathroom block lit up our tent all night.

We had a trail with direct river access, the sites are spread well apart, everything was very quiet (almost no road noise, just the river).

Delightful, clean, pleasant owners

I had a wonderful trip to White Acres in March. It's very close to Bardstown, KY which is an adorable town with some amazing historical features. The campground itself has hookups and has a very nice bathroom setup with great showers. The sites are lined up next to each other so there isn't much privacy. I car camped as it was pouring rain with thunderstorms all night.

Quiet, small

There are about 6 campsites along a stream with two pit toilets. It's a short walk to the lake which is pretty and has a lot of fish who were jumping the evening I was there. There was a police officer driving out when I got there and I was awoken in the middle of the night by a police officer who was making sure everything was okay. I felt at ease because it was so heavily patrolled.

Delightful stay

Nice hiking trails, nice tent site, bathrooms were clean. The shower is coin operated. Three campground is on the grounds with the national park so you can walk to your tour. The ranger was friendly and helpful.

Pleasant, quiet, nice amenities

There weren't many people at the campground so it was quiet. There was only one set of open bathrooms in March and they were well kept, clean and functioning. The shower was hot.

Peaceful lakeside campground

I arrived without reservation on a Thursday in June and there were plenty of camp spots. It was muggy and the mosquitos were out but I was safe as soon as my tent was up. Bathrooms are pit toilets, so remember your hand sanitizer! They have some but I don't depend on others for such things. Each camp site has a fire pit and most have trees between them.
