We found a nice pull out off the side of the highway near hope valley campground. We slept in our hammocks which was wonderful. It got really windy at night but it wasn’t to awful and it didn’t get to cold. We were able to walk around and collect wood to build a fire. No phone service.
We had a great time camping here. The hot springs were super cool and there were multiple pools scattered around the area. We swam in the small spring pools as the sun was setting and got to watch the stars come out. Some of the pools are super hot and others not much, also they are very muddy. You can’t actually camp by any of the springs but there are a few pull offs to camp at before you get to the springs. We had phone service. If you want to make a fire make sure you bring some wood as there wasn’t really any wood to collect from the area. It also got super windy during the night but our tent held up fine. Over all really great site, and free!
This place was wonderful! We stumbled upon this place after wine tasting in Sonoma. This place had many sites and super family friendly. Very easy to find. There was lots of deer/wildlife which was cool to see up close. No phone service, we had a big fire and slept in our hammocks. Clean bathrooms and porta potties at each site. Many sites to choose from.
We really needed a place to stay and this one was open. It was cool we decided to hang out hammocks up in the trees and sleep in them for the night. We found lots of wood and had a nice fire. We were right in the sand dunes with lots of dune buggies! It did rain on us during the night so we ended up sleeping in the car. There were also lots of nats/mosquitos which were very annoying but kinda went away as it got darker outside.
It was a cool place to camp. We just drove about 4/5 miles down Marlow creek and found a small pull off to camp. No phone service but the Forest was beautiful! We walked through the creek for a little bit. Not to many good pull off options. It was super damp and rainy while we were there so we’re unable to start a fire. The road had quite a few pot holes but still pretty nice.
We had a wonderful time at this campsite, kinda hard to find as there aren’t really any signs or ‘designated’ spots like we are used to, just random pull off spots in the woods. It was about a 20-30 min drive from bend. Super quiet and relaxing. We had cell service and there was a lot of wood lying around to snag for a campfire.
The roads were pretty rough, the camp sites are better for RVs and car parks. No service. But super close to Jackson hole. It was super rainy and cloudy but I could tell it would have been a beautiful view., no bathrooms. Ground is pretty rocky. But also it was free.
We really enjoyed camping here. Many campsite options, close to water, trash cans, bear boxes, and clean bathrooms at every site. No cell service. Beautiful view of the mountains. Roads were a little rough but definitely do able. Super close to Yellowstone and Tetons. The road was hard to find, you have to enter a camp first. Also it was free!
Easily accessible. We camped in our tent, the roads were super easy to drive on. Great water access. Lots of wood for campfires. Yes cell phone service and it was free! Although the bathroom was very unclean.
This campground is just outside sun valley, Idaho. When we stayed it was very quiet and many different choices of campsites, you can here the road from your site but it was not disruptive. The bathroom is far from most sites and no cell service but consequently was not the issue, the views were breathtaking. The creek was accessible. Firewood is easily available if you’re willing to collect it. The roads are a little rough but animals were no concern. We camped in our tent and had a wonderful time, and it was free!
