Quiet and Convenient

Upside: There are only 6 spots, so it’s guaranteed to be a pretty peaceful, quiet place. Nice water views and close to a walkable beach. About 20 minutes to downtown Newport, so this made visiting the town easy. Given that its military only, you cant beat the price. Downside: no sewer hookups or showers. The closest sewer dump is not far, but they charge you $10.

Party KOA

If you like close quarters and being welcomed by a booze bus, then this KOA is for you. The amenities seemed clean and fine, no complaints about the staff, but this KOA is not our cup of tea. The only good note for us is that it is convienantly close to the aquarium and mystic seaport visit that we were staying there for.

Average KOA

About what you expect from a KOA. If you can manage without full hookups, choose the spots down by the creek. The views are the best in the place. Just a little muddy. Otherwise the upper spots are pretty close to each other and in direct sun. Amenities are all standard and clean. The location is fairly convienet for philly or other touristy trips.

Very Dog Friendly

Campground sites are nice and spacious, bathrooms are good, and there’s plenty to do for everyone. We hiked the 7.5mile lake trail with our two pups. It was beautiful and along the way there were opportunities to kayak/sup, beach it, or even play on a ropes course. We always travel with our dogs and this place has the BEST dog park. Big open space with access to lots of water play. We definitely recommend this spot!
