On the way back east after spending 2+ weeks on the road, we desperately needed a place to set up our tent and lay down for the night before continuing on. We found this little gem and it wasn’t very far off the “main” road. Basically in the middle of nowhere we found this spot and were able to easily set up our tent, then leave in the morning without seeing another person or being bothered by anything. No facilities, except a small bathroom that was closed, but it was exactly what we needed.
This campground was a little tricky to find after dark, but was able to show up and set up camp at 9pm. Tons of available spaces in late September. Clean free showers and laundry facilities a total plus. Had a strange crab apple/peach tree dropping fruit on our site right and left, but still a lovely spot to stay. 2 PM check out is also very welcomed
An awesome no frills campground with amazing views. Swimming allowed in Sugar Bay (no lifeguard) and in late September the water was warm. No showers or bathrooms, but each camp spot has a table and fire pit. Service was pretty much none existent, but that doesn’t bother me. No body was camping anywhere near us either
Was greeted by friendly staff, splurged on a cabin and it was clean and comfortable. We didn’t have any neighbors and were located close to the showers and some horse stables (but far enough away from them so as to not smell horses the whole time lol). Great stay and would definitely recommend checking out this spot
