Nice, quiet city park

Very nice campground. All 7 sites are on grass. No water or sewer hookups, but there is a dump station. Can’t beat the price of $10.

Great desert park

This park is fantastic. The campground is very well maintained and the bathroom/showers were some of the nicest we’ve been to. The museum in the park is very well done and informative. The only nit I would pick is that the electrical outlets were a bit far. My cord barely reached. Would definitely recommend visiting the Mexican border town of Puerto Palomas. Be sure to ask at the museum for a coupon for a free margarita for the table at the Pink Store.

Nice, quiet campground

When traveling near Del Rio, we always try to stop here for a night or two. Well spaced sites and clean pit toilets. If looking for an out-of-the-way place to spend the night, this is it. Just a short 1-mile drive on a gravel road (well maintained) to a number of great sites. The only downside is that the water at this “water front” site was nowhere to be seen. The lake hadn’t extended up this far in many, many years.

Pleasant surprise

From the park map, it looked like the campsites were pack in like sardines. When we got there, we found very nice, spacious site right on the water. We were there on a Sunday, so there were lots of families grilling and fishing, but we would not have known if we didn’t leave the campsite. The bathrooms were clean, but sparse. They were also used by day-trippers. We enjoyed watching the birds, particularly the pelicans which entertained us by diving into the water in front of our campsite.

Beautiful COE campground

Very spacious and well kept. Will definitely stay here again.

Great campground for reasonable price

This park is about 7 miles from Bay City and is between the Colorado River and Hossey Slough. There are two camping loops. The Wilderness loop has electricity and water on the Hossey Slough and is accessed on a gravel road and the sites are also gravel. It has a very rustic feel and is beautiful. The only downside is the showers and bathroom are about a quarter mile away at the office. The bathrooms are older, but spacious and clean. The other loop is on the Colorado River and has full hook-ups. The sites are very close together. We were here on a February weekend and there was only one other camper in the Wilderness loop. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location

Stayed in loop B. Nice view of lake and surrounding mesas. No shade. Nice flush toilets
