Yogi Bears had so many activities the weekend we were camping our boys loved it. There is a pool with water slides, a camp ‘clubhouse’ where crafts were offered for the kids. There was a dance party win Yogi Bear and his ‘birthday’ celebration the next day with face painting and a piñata. It’s a good place to bring bikes to ride and it is also on the water. The camp store and game room are stocked. We usually do state park camping but this was a fun switch up for us and the kids still remember all the activities offered.
This campground on Skyline Drive is first come first serve. We arrived on an early Friday afternoon in July and there were still a good amounts of sites left. Bring your bug spray! There are lots of hikes nearby. We drove to hike Dark Hollow falls and it is a good easy/moderate one. I hiked while pregnant and our two young sons made it up and back(while catching a ride on the way back up). I gave it 4 stars because the camp hosts were a bit nosy and intrusive and there was an incident with a family nearby that seemed to be a misunderstanding but the park rangers and everyone got involved and it was a big ordeal. It seemed like it was an isolated thing but it was uncomfortable to have to witness.
This is probably our favorite campsite yet. We stayed at site 6 and it backed up to a little stream. The site itself was private even though there are other sites around. Our boys loved playing in the stream and climbing the hill to get to our hammock on the site too. The lake has a beautiful view with green mountains surrounding it. It is a bit of a walk from the sites so we drove.
