Late Summer Stay

Last trip of the summer before school started. We stayed at a great site with plenty of privacy, but lots of space for the kids. Best part of this stay was the easy bike ride on the wonderfully maintained bike path to the local ice cream shop. Too many amazing flavors!

First Family Trip of the new Season

A quick last second get away for the first time as a family this season. We stayed in site 201 which was convenient. I wouldn't stay in the site again as it had nothing but swampy muddy low ground around it. It was also right at the entrance. Lots of traffic. However, the kids had plenty of fun running and playing on the hill directly across the street. The weather was great. The easy access to the lake and surrounding hiking trails made for an enjoyable weekend. The Mauthe Lake campground area in the KM forest is a great option for all. Nice and quiet early in the season with beautiful scenery.

Late Fall Getaway

Amazing little spot. Campground has only a handful of sites. Makes for a very secluded trip. Clean pit toilet. Easy access to trails and area lakes. Could canoe the river if you want. Very quiet.

Canoe Camping

Friends and I love to canoe camp here. We make it a yearly “beginning of summer”tradition. Very secluded sites up and down the river. Fishing has always been good.

Late Spring Visit

Stayed here for a quick weekend getaway in the late spring. The campground area is nice and wooded. Provides ample privacy from other campers. Although the road ways are a little tight. Very windy weekend but I imagine during the summer it’s a great spot to camp near their big beach and lake access.

Fun little park and campground

Live nearby. We go there a lot over the summer. Fun park to ride bikes through. Many trails to walk or hike. The pond has a great beach for kids.

One night stay

A very quiet spot located right near Junction. We arrived at night and left well before sunrise the next day to get to Bryce. Conveniently located between ZIon and Bryce. Don’t forget that Belly of the Dragon is right here too! Check out the cave. Very muddy off the beaten paths in January so be careful.

We drove through it

Drove through this spot looking for a place to stay. We were very surprised to find an old looking bulldozer parked near the back of the wide open area. Not at all what we expected. We decided to pass on this spot. However it is conveniently located right off 89 and hard to miss.

Quick Overnight Stay

We arrived to Hurricane Cliffs late at night on our travel to Zion. Very big BLM and easy to navigate. Clearly a popular place to stay as there a handful of other campers doing the same. Vehicles with good ground clearance recommended. Beautiful views. Fire rings are scattered around so find an open ring and park near it.

Watchman Stay

Stayed during winter months. Zion is amazing this time of year. Even though we stayed during national “free entry” day there were not many people. Hiked early each morning and had most trails to ourselves. By the afternoon we started to encounter more people. Campground is amazing and very well maintained. Only visitor center has open bathrooms.
