They maximized every bit of land they had for this campsite. The spots are small, and boy do they enforce the 2 car limit per site. We had a 3rd car come join us after hours so there was nobody at the check in station when you drive in. Within 15 minutes of the car being there while we unload the gear, we were scolded for having a 3rd car (which easily fit within the driveway area mind you) and were told to move it immediately.
It’s a nice campground in a great location, but it left a lot to be desired for a tent camper. Seemed like a great spot for RV’s and big families though.
If you don’t have a RV or Trailer and want the illusion of a hike in campsite, this is your spot. Great spot on Timothy lake to hang out, drink a beer, and not have to deal with the crowds at a day use area.
The walk-in sites are a little close together, but that’s expected at most campgrounds. Nice to be away from the road going through the campground.
Huge campsite but it doesn’t feel that way when you are at your site. The sites by the lake appeared to be much larger than the ones further up the hill.
Thankfully we had two sites because on the map, it looked like both sites had a pull through area for cars, but the first one had “parking” which was just an enlarged shoulder on the narrow road going through the loop which would not have fit a Prius, let alone our two SUV’s. Just beware the campground map can be a little misleading!
