Absolutely love Hatcher Pass, have hiked or camped there every year. I usually stay on the Archangel side. There is a remote spot near the end of the road, down by the river, with a makeshift bench and a fire ring. Does have an outhouse nearby. Beautiful views, mountains, sunsets. Hiking trails all around. The lodge at Hatcher is about a 10-15 minute drive.
Small campground, limited spots. Best to call ahead and reserve dates. Gorgeous views of Turnagain Arm and sunrise/sunset. Down the road from a fabulous coffee shop.
Quick visit while exploring the Kenai peninsula. Clean sites. Lots of bear scat! Have bear spray and keep you food in designated bear proof containers at campground. Close to plenty of lakes and hiking trails.
Camped here plenty of times, mile 21 along Denali hwy. Beautiful area and views, always clean. Picnic tables and fire rings. Most sites have raised grassy areas for tent camping. Group camping sites available. Attentive host. Canoe, kayak, hike, fish, etc. 21 miles from Maclaren lodge (river and glacier)
Sometimes gets busy around bigger holidays like 4th of July.
Large campground with plenty of choices to pitch tents or hook up rv. Clean facilities. Fire pits and picnic tables. Near lakes for canoe/kayak and plenty of hiking trails.
Clean campgroind and sites. Clean and supplied bathroom facility. Picnic table and fire ring. Close to hiking trails.
Stayed here for 2 nights while hiking to Lost Lake.
