Stumbled on this by accident! It takes a bit to get here but it is very nice. Had lots of deer and raccoons around…and depending on the time of year you might see a gator on the drive in. Very relaxing and surrounded by history and water fun. Mosquitos and gnats were a bit prevalent but it is a marsh area.
Away from a lot of the hustle of the Myrtle Beach area surrounded by marsh/inlet on one side and beach on other. Good bit of sites but spaced enough to not feel too crowded. Lots of fun exploring the ruins or nature or just catching some waves.
Sites for RVs and tents. Close to the water and has fishing options. Pretty humid in the tent area due to the fact it is surrounded by trees =not a lot of breeze. People are helpful. Close to outside attractions. Lots of trails and beach access. Playground and pier.
Rental sites for tents and rv as well as some primitive sites to hike up to. Water activity and rentals. Picnic areas and trails. Always good family fun to be had
Very nice for camping or launching your boat! Camping from tents to cute cabins. Bunch of options to rent water equipment. The only real downside to this place is the tons of ants in the trees and areas on the ground. Makes using a hammock irritating at times lol
Many sites available. Close to falls. Tucked away next to the river. Nice community feel
Small campground, but there are free off road sites not too far down the road. Cell service disappears but I love that kind of disconnect. No power, can use a generator but only for a few hours during non quiet time. Quiet hours strictly enforced. Horse trails nearby. Roads lead to blue ridge Parkway. There is a shower and working toilet, but also outhouse for off season use. Hosts make you feel like family.
