Beautiful views, easy to get to campsites. Fun twisty drive up the mountain. There were about 12 sites with vault toilets and non potable water and trash cans available everywhere. Saw quite a few turkeys. Nice small hike up to the top from the campground. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. Only thing is you are really close to your neighbor.
Stayed here 2 nights. Just far enough outside of town. We stayed when it wasn't so packed. Tied up some tubes in the river and played in the water. Lots of hiking and beautiful scenery.
We have stayed here a few times. It's a long drive down a dirt road to get to Sweetwater Campground where we stay. They seem to keep up with the holes in the road though. There are plenty of places to hike and bike. We had to stop on one of the trails though because there were too many stickers for our dogs feet. The water is stagnant at the falls when we went but it was fun to climb down to the falls. Fire rings and picnic tables and a vault toilet available. Pack in pack out. Please leave it clean!
Stopped in to rest late at night on my way to CA. Super easy to find. Set up our tent right before quiet time. Lots of campgrounds. Perfect for tent camping.
Stayed here one night driving through. Came after hours and set up a tent.
Stopped here just to sleep traveling from Texas to California. Very peaceful place. We put up a tent. My Prius also made it fine just had to drive slow. A little highway noise at night but nothing major. Got up and took a little hike in the morning. No one else out here. Will definitely stay again. Definitely primitive pack in pack out. Close to town though.
