This park is definitely a great primitive Park to go to. The only bathrooms here are out houses. be prepared because there's no service or Internet no water no hookups. Totally primitive. Lots of Wildlife and a great view of the sky. You are camping on top of a giant Mountain / Hill above the river Colorado River. Lots of challenging hiking here and there is also a hiking trail that goes to the Springs. Which is absolutely beautiful to watch the spring water falls over the hills and mountains. This is not a river you can swim in. But you can fish hear.
I didn't get to stay here long but you can tell there's absolutely lots to do here. It's right next to a river and in the mountains/tall hills. definitely good place for families and group camping. This place even has its own laundromat which was kind of nice because the one night we dis stay all our stuff got rained on pretty good and had to wash all of our stuff. We did get to siwm in the river and the river was beautiful and clear. Wish we could have done more here but we were only here for one night. Definitely going back to stay longer to be able to experience the whole experience of this park. They have tons of long hiking trails that you can camp on, fishing, floating, kayaking, Exedra. Also this is definitely a park that you need to plan ahead for and get here early because it gets really packed with people coming in and out. It's a very popular Park.
Absolutely love love love this place. It's one of my favorites. Great view of the sky so if you are a star lover you will love this place. Lots of wild life around and beautiful sunrises/sunsets. You are a little snug next to each other at the campsites and there's not much to hiking trails but it's totally worth the trip. They also have a somewhat man-made natural spring water lake that you can swim in and scuba dive in and it's absolutely beautiful and lots of fun. They have fish in there that you can swim with and if you have goggles on you can see the gorgeous underwater plants they have in the pool.
I really love this park. Great space between camp sites, nice hiking trails and lake. We came here in the spring during the week and the only disappointment I had was that the only time you can get on the paddle boats as during the weekend and summertime. I was looking forward to the paddle boats. :-(
