these sites are in a frat location for hiking the northern white mountains. very primitive car camping with only a fire pit at the site. as a backpacker this suits me fine. great place to enjoy with friends for a few daya or use as a base camp for hiking. it’s close to fosters if you need supplies and a restroom. these sites are heavily used and there is a bit of trash left behind.
Stayed here on a road trip from MA to PA to DC. Was nice to sleep in the "woods" for a night. Wasn't the easiest place to navigate at night to find spots that weren't reserved. The ranger station was closed so we couldn't talk to anyone to see what sites were open. The facilities were clean, the shower was a bit cold in November!
Nice camp ground, clean facilities, the host was hilarious! Convenient spot off the Kanc to day hike some 4Ks.
This road is perfect for a dirt bag. You get a fire pit and that's it. Right near a great swimming hole and the twin mountains. It is quiet, the sites are far apart.
Stayed here with my pup on her first camping trip. Nice and quiet winter camping. We set up at night and woke up to hike her first 52 with a view, Middle Sugarloaf. Facilities are closed off season.
Lafayette has the WARMEST showers! The facilities are clean, the showers are huge, you can wash your dirty hiking clothes in there while you wash up. Perfect location and great amenities!
Great place to set up camp to get some 4Ks in the whites. Some lovely spots by the water. Open year round!! I have stayed here many times, three times in the winter (it is so nice to have an open bathroom in the winter!) and a few times in the summer. Quiet, clean sites.
With all of the hiking one can do in Acadia we used this spot to make dinner, have a fire, sleep and wake up for breakfast. Nice and clean, quiet site.
Lovely fire pit! Close to seawall road which was perfect for a quick drive for late night star gazing. Quiet, clean campsite.
