Driftstone is set on a beautiful location on the Delaware River. River Road on which it is located, is picturesque and quiet enough to run, walk or bike on. The sites along the river would be my first choice, but if you have children, being near the playground might be a good selection as well. Just be cautious of the placement of the dump station and proximity to the site. They don't guarantee a specific site, but can guarantee a section. The sites are all large, and easy to get in and out of. Sites include water, electric and cable. There is an inexpensive pump out service available daily. People are friendly as is the management. We visited in the fall and the views of the leaves changing were incredible. There are some cute towns nearby and lots to explore. There is a boat ramp that can accommodate small boats and kayaks for rent. Things to do nearby include tubing, kayaking, rafting on the Delaware, hiking, breweries and Hardball Cider.
This is a beautiful campground, set on a lake with lovely owners. It’s easy to get to and close to the Jersey Shore. There is a great brewery about 20 min away. There’s a beautiful bike path (albeit along a main road) and miles to hike. The lake is small but pretty and they have canoes for rent. Sites are wooded and spacious. The setting is absolutely lovely. However, be prepared to spend 30 minutes getting into and out of your site. The roads within the campground are VERY narrow and heavily wooded. There are no easy turns and you maybe have some scars left on vehicle or trailer from the brush and or small trees that overhang the road. We are seasoned trailer pullers both with a boat and 31’ TT and it was challenging. But if you’re up for an adventure, you will love this campground.
Rip Van Winkle is a beautiful campground, it’s well run, well maintained, and has a lot to do! I was a little skeptical that we wouldn’t get to choose our site, but you can’t go wrong, they are all wooded, private and well situated. The campground is centrally located you many things to do. Minnewaska state park was gorgeous, and the hikes around Kaaterskill as well. The creek on the property (Plattekill) is great, the pond is fun to fish in, the RC track is great for those who are into it, laundry facilities are efficient, full hookups are the cherry on top. Highly recommend.
This campground is lovely. Very wooded. Some sites are more private than others but all have a wooded and private feel. It's GREAT For kids. A nice playground with tons of kids running all over. The swimming pond is pleasant and great to cool off in. The bathrooms/showers are clean and well maintained. The small mini-golf course is a fun distraction for a bit. There are great trails to hike to right from the campground as well as the Wolf Preserve. We stayed along the Creek which was nice and combined an RV and tent site to accommodate our family. Water and electric hookups are standard, no sewer, but there is a dump station. The store is cute and has just about anything that you need.
We camped here with our RV and boat. We stayed creekside to take advantage of the sewer connections. Had a great time. The seasonal campers are super friendly and fun as are the campground hosts. The boat ramp, slips and trailer storage made it an easy boating/camping vacation spot. Yough lake is small, but fun to explore. Good fishing. The campground is very clean and well maintained. The sites are well sized and provide a picnic table and fire ring. Lots of places for kids to run around and explore. The swimming area is lovely as is the playground. This is one place that we would definitely go back to visit the incredible friends that we made. A visit to Ohiopyle state park is a MUST to see the natural water slide, waterfalls and take some fantastic hikes.
This is a HUGE campground. The sites on the water are lovely. They are VERY open and not wooded, but you wake up to the most beautiful sunrises, and you go to sleep to the most gorgeous sunsets. We had our boat with us, and were told that there are tie ups. There are not, there are trees to tie to and a somewhat rocky shore to beach on, so boaters beware. However, this lake is amazing to explore! Some of the most amazing rock structures and fun nooks and crannies. The campground is large, so it helps to have a vehicle. Laundry and bathroom facilities are clean and nice. I would highly recommend. It's a perfect place to boat, kayak and explore.
GORGEOUS location, many sites with water views and directly on the water. Beautifully maintained park. Water and Electric, dump station. Must have a low boat, or a top that can drop due to many VERY low bridges in the area. Great ramp, ample trailer storage, frisbee golf, beautiful hiking trail. You will NOT regret booking here!
Beautiful location with lots of varied sites. Some are more wooded, some have beautiful water views, all have water and electric, and some have sewage, pump out service is available. Fire wood delivery from Thumper is incredible. People are extremely nice, and we made lots of friends. A beautiful lake, perfect for fishing, tubing, wakeboarding… Has laundry, but machines weren’t great. I was a little worried about the first come/first serve site assignments, but it works out really well being able to choose your site. Highly recommend for singles, couples, and families with children. We brought our boat and the ramp is a bit steep, but the slips were great. Such a fun lake to explore.
We camped here in a rental while towing our boat. Super nice people, mostly long term sites, with 8 transient sites. They are in an open and mostly flat area. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Good boat ramp with slips. Water and electric, no sewage, but there is a pump out truck. Location on the Potomac is great for boaters. Bought a bushel of crabs right off of the boat from Mr. Joe. Many people have golf carts, but not necessary as the campground was very walkable. Highly recommend for boaters, maybe not for others. The site next to the pool is a great one, since you have a large area of grass next to the site.
