Couldn’t imagine a better city adjacent site

Nearly impossible to reserve, the five sites at Kirby Cove are large and spread out, giving the feeling of true isolation while being a two minute walk from the beach under the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s spectacular. You can Uber there if you have to. If you forget the salad at home, just go get it. SF and Marin are less than 15 mins away. The foghorns can be quite loud at night so consider earplugs. Good luck getting a weekend res!

Gorgeous & small, be ready for bugs

Made an audible and camped here before passing through Capitol Reef. There’s not many spots but I lucked out and got the last one. The place is true to its name and is surrounded by fiery sunset reflections on the red rocks. Had a nice stay but was swarmed by mosquitos (mid June) so come ready.

Remote relaxing hot springs

This place is definitely in the middle of nowhere along Highway 50. I was a little sketched out driving down the dirt road without cell service but the hot springs were easy to find and seemed clean. There were a few other groups there and everyone shared the tubs. Clothing optional! Have plenty of water and take precautions, but highly recommend.

It’s an RV park

Fairly run of the mill. A few tent spots that you have to reserve but mostly RVs, many of which seemed to have been there a while. A bit pricey at ~$70 a night. Facilities seemed fine - they have a pool/hot tub. Easy walk to the mall. There was zero social activity; everyone seemed to be in their RV all day and night.

Fantastic little spot

Definitely the best campground in the Auburn area, though only 5 walk-in spots. It’s right on the river with fishing and boating opportunities. Lots of hiking trails right from camp. The 3 mile road down is a bit treacherous (maybe don’t take your RV) but makes you feel ‘out there’. Highly recommended.

Functional unmarked campground

Travel delays got me into the Wenatchee area pretty late and I missed all the walk in spots at the main campgrounds. It was dark and I don’t know the area so this app really helped me. This site is unmarked off the side of the road and questionably a ‘real’ campsite, though there was one other group there in a similar situation. I didn’t see any ‘no camping’ signs like I saw elsewhere. It’s pleasantly right on a river. There are no fire pits or amenities of any kind.
