Very Nice campground

We spent a cold rainy weekend at Bailey's Point but we manage to get the perfect site A23 in my opinion! It was opening weekend and to spite the weather there were quite a few campers there. The sites are sit up so there is a view of the lake from most of the sites and the site are fairly large. The grounds were very clean and maintained including the bath house, it is dog/pet friendly and the staff was very nice. There were some boaters and fisherman on lake even though it was about 40 degrees. We did not hike this trip the weather was just to miserable but we planning a return visit so we can see everything they have to offer.

A STOP ALONG THE ROAD

While traveling from St. Louis to Kentucky we happened upon Lynnville RV Park just off I-64. We checked in through the honor system as the store/office closed at 5p; we filled out a registration form put $22 in it and put it in the mail slot-have to say I have not seen that before. The grounds were clean and maintained, it sits along a river so there were many there with boating and fishing gear-there were a lot of campers there but it was a very quite night. It's a nice little campground, the sites had fire rings, grills and picnic tables; some sites are actually on the river. We will probably stop there again on the next trip to Missouri.

NICE UNSUSPECTING CAMPGROUND

We happened onto this campground while traveling and was a bit apprehensive at first due to the surrounding area did not look appealing but we were tired. This was a great little campground!! Not to mention clean!! They were updating the campground and adding more sites and it appeared all of the sites were full hook-ups. The bathhouse is small but they do have a dog wash station outside the bath house complete with a tub, a ramp and hot and cold water. We did not get to explore much because we got there late but while walking the dogs we noticed a playground, in ground pool, club house and the office has a few necessities--the staff was fabulous!

GREAT STATE PARK/RECREATION AREA

We spent a week here in Feb. 2017 it was a bit chilly and quiet. The sites and trails are very well maintained, all facilities were clean and the park rangers are super friendly. They also offer cabin and cottages for those who do not camp. There is a playground area as well as putt putt golf and the best part they are dog friendly! During the summer they offer a beach area with peddle boats and kayaks. The lake is 22 acres with trails that go along the lake. As of right now Vogel is on my top 10 list and we will certainly be returning.

Tallulah Gorge

This is one of our favorite spots when going to north Georgia mountains. Beautiful views, friendly people & a little history to top things off. Definitely worth stopping for!

Providence Canyon

We only went for a day hike but the views are spectacular. It is definitely on our return list, looking forward to spending a weekend or longer when the weather is cooler of course.

Spirit of the Suwanee

Very large unique campground it offers tent camping, RV camping, camping with horses & cabins. Most famous for their events & concerts. Most campers bring their golf cart & ride the trials. There is a restaurant/bar on site that has live music on on weekends; there is also a general store that has most anything you may need, as well as a Starbucks. Great weekend getaway if your in South Georgia/north Florida.

Beech Bend Park, KY

Great family camp/park. There is a water park within the campground & a racetrack . We were racing so it was very convenient to race all day & camp at night. Another plus is it is dog friendly. The only downside was when we arrived it was dark and we could not maneuver the grounds; there is no lighting after you come through the gate, since we were unfamiliar with the campground it was a bit stressful. All & all not a bad park; wear the kids out during the day in the water park & relax by the fire in the evening.

Lake Guntersville SP, AL

Nice place to camp, boat & fish. Sites seemed a little tight but not too bad. Did I mention Great place for boating and fishing!

Georgia Veterans State Park, Cordell GA

Great park for family fun. It offers a lake for boating & swimming, a beach for lounging, hiking, golf and Sam's Shortline Railroad tour. There are also restaurants/ bar & grill which during the summer offer concerts. They offer rv sites & pioneer type camping.

Monte Sano SP, Alabama

One of our favorite go to campgrounds, always peaceful & great hiking. The park is very well maintained. We always have great experience when camping here.

Cheaha SP, Talladega National Forest

Great park for hiking, there is actually a boardwalk for wheelchair accessibility to Bald Mountain overlook. Camp sites are pull through & larger than most we've been to. Highly recommended!

Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn Georgia

Family friendly campground with FABULOUS views. The park is very clean and maintained from RV sites to the pioneer camping sites & the bath houses, the rangers & volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting this park.
